"Always in our Hearts"
Cory Douglas Monzingo
Cory Douglas Monzingo was diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT) in October, 2008 at the age of 19 as he was starting his sophomore year at Texas A&M University. DSRCT is a rare cancer with a very poor survival rate. Cory’s 27 month battle with DSRCT included many chemo and radiation treatments, surgeries and medical procedures. Cory also received several experimental procedures that may someday help other people who are fighting DSRCT. Cory fought this cancer with a true Aggie Spirit and never gave up faith and hope that he would win his battle against DSRCT. Cory passed away December 15, 2010 at the age of 21. To remember and honor Cory the Cory Douglas Monzingo ’11 Endowed Memorial Scholarship and the Cory Douglas Monzingo Endowment for DSRCT Research were established.
